DAY WISE ITINERARY

 

Day 01: Arrival Guwahati – Shillong (Distance: 120 kms/Time: 03 hrs)

Arrive in Guwahati airport

En route witness the Umiam Lake or Barapani.

Is the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya in midst of sylvan hills adorned by Khasi pines and peerless beauty.

If time permits visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward's Lake.

Transfer to Shillong and check-in to hotel.

Evening free for leisure or for shopping in the famous Police Bazaar in Shillong.

Day 02: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (Distance: 60 Kms/ Time: 02 Hrs)

Day excursion to Cherrapunjee

En route visit Elephant Falls at Sohra, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem viewpoint for mesmerizing views of the Hills.

In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters (Nohsngithiang) Falls and Nohkalikai Falls.

Later take a soft cave walk inside the Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. Also visit the Garden of Caves.

Day 03: Shillong – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong (Distance: 200 Kms/ Time: 07 Hrs)

Transfer to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. You can take the sky walk. Spectacular view of the living Root Bridge.

The bridges are tangles of massive thick roots, which the local people inter-twine to form a bridge that can hold several people at a time.

The root bridges may be up to over a hundred feet long and take ten to fifteen years to become fully functional, but they become very strong in the process.

The bridges live and keep growing and strengthening over time. The useful lifespan of the bridges is thought to be 500-600 years.

Later transfer to Dawki. a village of the Jaintia community whose prime occupation of fishing. Be mesmerized by the beauty of the Umngot river.

The Umngot itself is a prime fishing spot for fishermen of the villages. The river is also famous for its crystal-clear water, so clear that when seen from a distance,

it appears as if the boat is floating in mid-air! The Umngot river is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with

Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which is a single span suspension bridge was constructed. This is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place.

Enjoy an amazing country boat river ride.

Transfer up to the Bangladesh border. Later back to Shillong.

Day 04: Shillong – Kaziranga (Distance: 200 Kms / Time: 05.5 Hrs)

Transfer to Kaziranga and check in to hotel

Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 05: Kaziranga Sightseeing

Breakfast at Hotel

After breakfast Proceed for Jeep safari in the Central Range. With Kohora as the entry point,

the Central Range covers the Daphlang and Kathpora.

Later visit Orchid Biodiversity Park, enjoy Local Village and Tea Garden (Outer View) tour

Dinner at hotel

Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Note: Elephant ride is not included and can be taken at additional cost (5-30 A.M/ 6: 30 A.M./ Subject to availability / operation and allotment from forest department).

Day 06: Kaziranga – Guwahati (Distance: 200 Kms / Time: 04.30 Hrs)

Check out from Kaziranga

Transfer to Guwahati and check in to hotel,

If time permits, Evening enjoys sunset river cruise on the Brahmaputra River.

Dinner at Hotel

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 07: Departure from Guwahati

Check out from hotel

Proceed to visit Maa Kamakhya Temple (Temple doors remain open for devotees in the following timings - 08:00 am to 01:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.)

Later transfer to Guwahati Airport to Board the Indigo flight 6E-316 Departing at 17:50 Hrs and Arrive in Bengaluru Airport at 21:10 Hrs
